Modern Icons of Style
The stars at the forefront of fashion.
There are a lucky few A-list stars who have their sartorial sense down to a T. Perhaps it’s not luck—it could be skill, or money, or a great stylist, or all of the above—but it’s there, whatever the reason.
And we’re not talking about those with an expensive but otherwise unimpressive collection of organic designer T-shirts. No, we’re calling attention to those celebs who effortlessly own the red carpet time and time again in an enviable rotation of custom-cut gowns and perfectly tailored suits.
This set wears their clothes like they’ve never been worn before, with a poise and confidence possessed by few.
To celebrate the 41st annual Toronto International Film Festival, we’re tipping our hats to this select group. These are the style icons of today.

Cate Blanchett
Cate Blanchett never misses the style mark. She’s the epitome of elegance, with enviable golden locks and a slender frame that provide a fabulous canvas for designers. “Cate Blanchett is my all-time favourite actress on the red carpet,” says Lisa Tant, vice president of exclusive services at Holt Renfrew. “From one event to the next, she is always changing up her style.” Whether she’s looking low-key, perched front row on the Armani Privé runway in Paris, or like she came to play for keeps, like at the Met Gala in New York, the Australian native frequently tops international Best Dressed lists. Take, for example, the frosty blue Armani Privé gown with its intricate floral appliqués and train that the 47-year-old wore to the 88th Academy Awards. It was fuel for fiery fashion discussion for weeks following the event. Cate, you can do no wrong.

We are aware that a lot of people save and repost our images without giving us the due credit. I’d like to remind all these people that we work hard to keep this site updated and with contents freely available. If this unrespectful behaviour persists, we’ll start tagging again all the photos, and not where the tag could be easily cut.
