Hello folks!

I recovered the DVDs of Burned Bridge, title used in several countries for the Australian TV Series Heartland, aired between March and June 1994 on ABC Australia. A young Cate Blanchett is Elizabeth Ashton, a writer arrived in a small coastal community, divided by racial prejudices, later shaken by the murder of an Aboriginal girl.

“I am more of a watcher where Beth feels she has to participate and bravely goes where a lot of people wouldn’t. I believe in giving people space to reveal themselves and not always tackling things head on as she does, although she displays a great honesty in doing so. She is so challenged culturally and confronted by the privacy of the Aboriginal society and doesn’t like being shut out.”

Cate Blanchett to appear in ‘Top Gear UK’

Top Gear is set to return to BBC Two in May, and co-presenter Matt LeBlanc just confimed that Cate will be a guest on the show, in the “Star in a Reasonably Price Car” slot.

‘When I flew home to LA, Cate Blanchett was on the plane and she said, “I think it’s so great that you’re the new host on Top Gear. Can I come on?” I said, “Absolutely! But really, you want to come on Top Gear?” When I got home I called the producers, and they were like, “How did that happen?”’

This is the very first tv appearance for Cate Blanchett: under the nickname ‘Kate’ she performed in the Red Faces segment during the famous Australian tv show Hey Hey It’s Saturday in 1986. She was seventeen years old.
