Cate has won a 2010 Helen Hayes Award “Lead Actress Non-Resident Play” for her role in The Sydney Theatre Company production of A Streetcar Named Desire! Congratulations Cate! The play also took home awards for Best Non-Resident Play and for Robin McLeavy for Outstanding Supporting Performer, Non-Resident Production.

Robin Hood screens at the Opening of the 63rd Festival de Cannes.
Robin Hood, the epic blockbuster by British director Ridley Scott, starring Russell Crowe and Cate Blanchett (and Max Von Sydow, Lea Seydoux, William Hurt), is to be screened at the Opening of the 63rd Festival de Cannes on Wednesday May 12, 2010. The film will be presented out of competition.
Robin Hood will be released in theatres in France the day of its presentation at Cannes, and released worldwide on May 14.
The Festival de Cannes is to take place from Wednesday May 12 to Sunday May 23.

In movie news, according to Cate’s IMDB, it seems she might be a busy lady soon as she is rumored to be starring in The Dangerous Husband, North of Cheyenne and (a personal hope because I would love to see Cate reprise her role as Galadriel!) The Hobbit: Part 1. Cate has also been seemingly cast in Hanna alongside Eric Bana and Saoirse Ronan. Synopsis below:
