Munich, Germany, will be the stage for global dialogue on the planet’s sustainable future on June 20 during the second edition of the “We Choose Earth Tour”.This event is organized by EDP, a global leader in renewable energies that is present throughout the energy sector value chain, and will bring together opinion leaders from the public, private, and social sectors in a debate aimed at inspiring collective change to ensure a more sustainable future for our planet.

Cate Blanchett and Ban Ki-moon will be two of the main speakers at this year’s event.

Cate Blanchett, Actor, Producer, and advocate for Climate Solutions, is the co-creator and co-host of Climate of Change, a podcast featuring interviews with experts and special guests discussing the biggest challenges humankind faces with the climate crisis. By organizing the second edition of this conference, EDP aims to continue promoting debate on the pivotal moment society is facing and how a rapid and fair energy transition can contribute to a more sustainable planet.

This edition of the “We Choose Earth Tour” will take place in Munich as a parallel event of Smarter E-Europe, an alliance of four energy sector conferences, including Intersolar, one of the world’s leading events on solar energy. Munich is a strategic location in Europe and is also one of the main cities where EDP is developing its renewable energy business.

EDP entered Germany in 2022 by acquiring Kronos Solar EDPR, a German solar energy developer. Germany is one of the countries where EDP will grow the most over the next three years, with around 500 MWp of solar projects in various stages of development and construction by 2026.
