Cate Blanchett at Global Refugee Forum as UNHCR Goodwill Ambassador

UNHCR Goodwill Ambassador Cate Blanchett participated at this year’s Global Refugee Forum. On Tuesday, day before the forum official begins, Cate Blanchett moderated conversation with statelessness activists Noor Azizah and Neha Gurung. Cate with UNHCR Supporter Ke Huy Quan opens the forum by reading the poem “Refuge” by poet and former refugee JJ Bola.

You can follow UNHCR on their social media platforms (TwitterFacebookInstagramYouTube) for updates and you can also help spread awareness of the plight of refugees by sharing their posts. If you would like to donate, you can follow the link here.

Held every four years, the Global Refugee Forum is the world’s largest international gathering on refugees. It is designed to support the practical implementation of the objectives set out in the Global Compact on Refugees: Ease pressures on host countries, enhance refugee self-reliance, increase access to third-country solutions and improve conditions in countries of origin.

It provides the opportunity for States and stakeholders to announce concrete pledges and contributions, highlight progress made, share good practices and take stock of the challenges and opportunities ahead.
